I´m working with a San Francisco real-time online content organizer who recently announced completion of its Series A financing. The financing is being used to invest in the growth of the the technical and product teams and continue to expand and scale verticals. This role is for local candidates.
To help them grow their team, I seek an exceptionally smart, motivated leader and architect who can work in PHP, Python and MySQL. This is a senior role working independently and in parallel with the CTO. The current team is fewer than 10 people. The successful candidate will start managing from day 1, offloading major projects the CTO´s plate. The work is intellectually challenging, engaging and will stimulate areas for improvement that have not been previously thought of.
Characteristics of the successful candidate:
Able to work their way around any obstacle and also attend to detail, keeping the bigger picture in view
Takes the initiative to lead the way in complex projects
Works with the team, familiar with group programming, shares ideas and learns from others
Comes with their own network, and the initiative to gather up their own team of trusted engineers
Deep knowledge about some components of running a large LAMP web site.
Experience with large data-bases, high traffic loads and scaling.
Experience managing cross-functional teams (engineering, product analytics, design).
Leader/Mentor: Takes the lead architecture role on major projects and help train developers in their roles within a project.
Suggests technologies and help evaluate those technologies.
