Position Title: Research Associate Intermediate
Duration: 10 - 12 Months
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Interview: Phone to Onsite
Max Pay Rate: DOE

Key responsibilities will include screening a variety of compounds and simple organic synthetic transformations including purification and characterization of intermediates. The individual will be performing benchwork as needed by the project team and communicating results to team members orally and in writing.

Job Qualifications:

Musts:

1. B.S./B.A. in chemistry, biochemistry, or equivalent with strong background in synthetic chemistry.
2. Minimum two years of hands-on experience on research projects involving synthetic chemistry techniques.
3. Proficiency in specific synthetic chemistry techniques including: thin-layer chromatography, column chromatography and recrystallization.
4. Experience with instrumentation used for analysis of small molecules, e.g. mass spectrometry and HPLC.
5. Excellent time management, teamwork and communication skills.
6. Excel at detail-orientated laboratory work and record keeping.
7. Ability to work independently and comfortable with the design and troubleshooting of experiments.
8. Computer literacy including experience with Word and Excel.

Desired:
1. Experience performing structure searches using Scifinder Scholar.
2. Experience with conjugation of small molecules to peptides and proteins.
