Product Marketing Manager
DESCRIPTION
In this key position you will develop and maintain an understanding of the PC, CE and Peripheral markets, including gigabit IO and Wi-Fi functionality and needs - and the opportunities for the company's innovative gigabit wireless products in these market segments. The successful candidate will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your notebook, PC peripheral and Wi-Fi industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You must possess a strong PC architecture, PC interface and Wi-Fi technical and product management experience. You must have WLAN experience, preferably within the PC industry to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.
You must feel comfortable in a "start up" work environment and be able to communicate effectively to marketing, architecture, business development and engineering teams. You will work with an engineering counterpart to define product release requirements. You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, developing the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will generate all product collateral to help communicate the technical and strategic benefits of your product for customer consumption. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
-Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
-Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing -Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning.
-Developing and implementing a go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
-Create all product collateral
-Analyzing potential partner relationships for the product.
REQUIREMENTS
-8+ years of Wi-Fi marketing/product management experience.
-Knowledgeable in WLAN technology.
-Knowledgeable in PC architecture and PC Interface technology
-Proven experience in product collateral creation and product launch
-BSEE - Computer Science or Engineering degree
-MBA desired
-Experience in WLAN for PC market a strong plus.
-This position may require travel to customer sites (20%).
Customer & Sales Strategy
- Become the primary point of contact & establish/grow relationships with key customers
- Develop our Tier 1 customer selection/engagement strategy
Communication
- Create product presentations and product collateral
- Effectively communicate product requirements and benefits internally and externally
- Drive new product launch planning & execution
