PL/SQl and Perl Developer
Under minimal direction, formulates/defines system scope and objectives to develop or modify moderate to complex technology systems. Competent to work at high technical level of all phases of technology delivery.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
-Complete technology assignments as assigned.
-Develop thorough knowledge of assigned business area.
-Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results.
-Completes technology request responses for the assigned business area(s).
-Manages or provides input to project management plans.
-Prepares detailed business and technical specifications from which programs will be written.
-Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs.
-Responsible for completion of a phase/phases of technology delivery or project management stage.
-Regularly provides guidance, training and mentoring to less experienced analyst/programmers.
-May lead or participate in code walk-throughs.
-Responsible for 24 x 7 support of assigned applications.
Qualifications:
-Undergraduate degree in CS/CE/CIS/MIS or Engineering/Technology or related field or equivalent experience.
-5+ years of professional experience developing using the PERL scripting language, including use as a development language.
-5+ years of professional development using an Oracle database. Proficiency in PL/SQL programming a plus.
-2+ years of professional software development experience using a service oriented architecture including application server development and XML
-Experience with airline reservation systems and concepts, SHARES, Sabre, etc.
-Experienced in the UNIX operating system Solaris 2x, including script development. Familiarity with Solaris performance tuning concepts a plus.
Demonstrated Project Management Experience:
-Demonstrated experience in preparing programming specifications.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Demonstrated ability to present information, project updates and interacting with various target audiences.
