Looking for a candidate that has two to three years of experience as a web developer.
Job Description
As a Web developer, you will be part of a team that builds, maintains, and supports the internal and external web sites and applications for this BU. The main portion of your role is to respond to user requests to update web pages on the internal and external web sites. In addition, you will be creating new pages on both sites and will be responsible for launching new sections on the company website associated with new product offerings. You will also be testing web pages and applications on various browsers, enhancing and modifying them as necessary to ensure the best experience for the user.
As a web developer, you may also help architect and design websites, and provide support for additional projects our team supports, such as email template creation, graphics resizing, and website redesigns, and application development. You must have an in-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle and be able to communicate project status, issues, and resolutions. Strong graphics skills a plus.
Skills and Experience
Be proficient in at least one structured programming language
Understand general database concepts
Understand the architecture of clients, servers, and Internet systems
Write functional and design specifications for Web applications
Create and implement Web sites
Create and monitor Web applications for clients and servers
Design and deliver Web services
Code, test, and support database-driven Web applications
Be proficient in HTML and XML
Application and page life-cycle management
Security aspects, such as forms authentication and membership and roles
Configuration and deployment of Web applications
Troubleshooting and debugging of Web applications
AJAX/Javascript and client-side scripting
Be proficient in Photoshop
Be proficient in Dreamweaver
Have previous Content Management tool exposure
Work Breakdown
60 percent coding
20 percent testing
20 percent support and communication tasks
