We seek a Network Engineer with network and security skills to join the Information Technology team based in San Jose, CA.
The Network Engineer will be responsible for the following priorities:
- Performing daily network administration to maintain network security, stability and monitor performance, ensuring 24X7 operations for a multi-site Global network
- Managing all network infrastructures which include Cisco switches, routers, ASAs, Wireless access points, etc.
- IT security forensics including log and systems analysis Implement and maintain network security solutions for intrusion detection and threat detection
- Acting as an externally facing point of contact to facilitate handling of problem reports and maintain relations with network peers and vendors
- Building and deployment of new networking gear, minimizing the impact to our services
- Maintaining network diagrams and write instructional and technical support documents for systems administration as well as end users
- Participating in new IT implementations as a member of the project team
Qualifications for this position include:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent in a technical discipline
- Network certifications such as CCNA/CCSP/CISSP/GIAC or higher certification required
- A minimum of 5 years network administration experience using Cisco equipment
- Demonstrated expertise in managing and supporting large-scale MPLS network infrastructure
- Senior level knowledge of intrusion detection, threat detection and related secuirty solutions and tools
- Complete understanding of Cisco switching architecture and core distribution methodology
- Complete understanding of OSI model, VLANS, VPN, MPLS and other network technologies
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Desired qualifications include:
- Familiar with ISO27001 framework
- Strong project management experience
- Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt or higher
- Experience with vendor management
