Database Engineer needed for excellent start up company with bleeding edge Big Data technologies. Salary 150-175k + benefits.
Seeking an experienced and driven Database Engineer, looking to make a difference in the Big Data space, to contribute to the efforts of a cutting edge start-up. Excellent, long term opportunity for a well-funded company.
Responsibilities
•Contribute to the Development of Big Data Products and Technologies including Database Internals, Distributed Systems, Systems Design.
Requirements
•BS required, MS preferred
•10+ years industry experience
•12-18+ months minimum experience in the Big Data space
•Hadoop/HBase/Hive internals (open source committers preferred)
•Database Internals (SQL/noSQL databases, indexing, query optimization, transaction processing, distributed database architectures)
Google Technologies: Tenzing, Dremel, BigTable, etc.
•Distributed Systems (concurrent programming, parallel processing)
•Systems design for scaling/performance, low latency, and high availability
Plus Skills
•Experience in Big Data Product Development
•Java, JVM
•Building Applications on top of Hadoop
•Derby database internals
•ODBC driver development
