Web Engineer
Attention web developers and software engineers! The Nokia Reality Capture group is looking to build its infrastructure team and needs your help.
Our infrastructure team builds software tools and websites designed to manage our data processing cloud infrastructure and other sites critical to our business. Your experience will allow us to build new, better tools and to fold in new technology into our existing tools.
Since this is a new team, your knowledge and experience will make a substantial impact and help us bring our software to the next level. We´re looking for experienced candidates who have worked with some or most of the HTTP stack, particularly in the realm of REST APIs or related applications. You should also have at least some understanding of Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP, modern web frameworks with Ruby on Rails or Python, as well as building modern JavaScript applications with HTML5 and CSS. If you´ve got what it takes, come join the fun.

Responsibilities
• Work directly with the cloud team to design and build new HTML5/CSS/JavaScript sites and dashboards critical to monitoring our infrastructure and maintaining data quality
• Design and write tests for existing and new software, identify design flaws in existing software

What we´re looking for
• Thorough understanding of HTTP and REST
• Javascript and Python experience
• Experience with modern Python or Ruby-based web frameworks
• Experience with NodeJS or similar asynchronous frameworks
• General understanding of HTML, how the DOM works, CSS, etc.
• Linux experience
• Understanding of how to use debugging tools and proxies such as Firebug or Wireshark
• Two or more years of industry experience
• Someone who cares about unit testing

And ideally, you have some of the following
• PHP, C, C++, or Java programming experience
• Experience with testing frameworks for web applications such as Mocha
• Experience building mockups either on paper or with mockup software such as Balsamiq
• Understand MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
• Understanding how security works on the web, what SQL injection, CSRF, and XSS are
• Distributed SCM, such as Git or Mercurial
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field
• Four or more years of experience in industry
