Our client is a cutting-edge software company who's solutions are used in the most demanding network environments throughout the world with customers in many different sectors. This is a position with a growing company and a leader in their niche. For this role we are seeking a candidate to join their support organization with a strong customer facing background and a technical background for this exciting opportunity:






Position title: Tech Support Engineer
Location: South Bay area(Sunnyvale/San Jose/Cupertino/Santa Clara)





Position description:

In this role the candidate will be responsible for support team members focusing on the following activities. You will work directly with the company's customers via phone, Webex and some occasional on-site visit. In addition you will analyze, track and resolve customer issues in a professional, timely manner, and interact with the research and development and other teams to investigate and resolve issues. You will also assist the field with ongoing pilot programs with customers and proof-of-concepts, and help to contribute to the company's support knowledge base and maintain the company's customer-facing support facilities.



Skills desired:

Experience in customer-facing activities (such as pre-sales engineering, technical account management and/or technical support)

Experience in supporting security solutions, including knowledge and hands-on experience with network devices and network architectures (firewalls, routers).

Hands on experience in system administration/management (Linux / Windows) – a must!

Solid background in the following is a major plus:
- Experience in firewall management, auditing, etc.
- Knowledge of complex network environments
- Knowledge in vulnerability management and vulnerability scanners
- Shell, batch, Perl and SQL scripting
- CISSP is a big plus but not a must. The company will support obtaining certification

Fast self-learning, independent

Strong problem solving skills with a desire to succeed

Strong analytical, organizational, time management, with superb oral/written communication and phone skills

Thrive in a team environment and possess the willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve the highest customer satisfaction

Willing to travel (expected travel 20% or less)
