Job Title: Senior Software Engineer/Wireless LAN

Job Description:
Our client is a fab-less semiconductor startup located in Fremont. The are developing wireless chipsets to speed up delivery of HDTV and other multimedia services over standard WiFi Networks. They are seeking a Senior SW Engineer, strong in Wireless LAN to add to their team. This represents an exciting hands-on project for experienced and distinguished Engineers.
Specific Duties include:
Design and develop key features for wireless networking device drivers.
Design and develop firmware features in an embedded environment.
Interface with hardware teams on ASIC design features and programming model.
Support software releases and features during test and release cycles.
Help with customer support issues as and when required.
***Candidates from the following communication chip companies would be most interesting to our client: Atheros, Broadcom, Marvell, Qualcomm or smaller ones. Other company possibilities are system companies such as Aruba and Cisco.
Required Skills:
Bachelor´s or Master´s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum of 6-8 years of applicable work experience.
Experience with wireless drivers and/or other networking drivers.
Experience working in an embedded environment.
Experience with embedded platform development.
Knowledge of networking protocols and security concepts.
Familiarity with hardware debugging.
Experience in release processes, build and packaging as well as life cycle and delivery mechanisms.
Unix/Linux and/or Windows OS driver experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Product architecture, design, implementation and testing experience.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience with 802.11 network protocols and the 802.11 PHY is a plus.
