Symmetricom is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the San Jose-based GBU enterprise engineering team to develop new and port existing software for our enterprise customers.
Job Responsibilities
-Designing and implementing software for precision timing and frequency applications
-Analyzing product requirements and evaluating for platform capabilities
-Concurrent hardware and software platform developments with multi-discipline teams across multiple product development sites
Essential Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS, Computer Engineering, EE or Physics
Minimum 5 years of software design experience
-2-3 years developing software for Linux or RTOS
-Solid programming experience in C and/or C++ with emphasis on embedded systems
-Hands on experience with embedded development environment and software tool chain
-Demonstrated understanding of OS coding techniques such as threading, processes, device, drivers, interrupts, etc.
-Demonstrated understanding of networking technologies, versed in Python, PHP, Apache,
-Excellent communication, writing and organizational skills
-Experience in Linux based system development & web UI
Additional Desired Qualifications
-Experience with DSP controllers
Knowledge of packet network time synchronization protocols, such as NTP and PTP/IEEE-1588
-Wireless communication systems and networks
-Network security protocols such as Radius, SSH, IPSEC and others
-Hardware / Software partitioning definition
-Prior experience developing embedded system products for commercial/enterprise markets
