Software Development Manager- SDK team


Do you want to influence the way customers use mobile devices? If so, join the Android Appstore SDK Team; an innovative, growing team at A2Z–OC Research & Development Center, part of the Amazon group of companies. This team will be working with the largest players in the Android space to push the boundaries of how customers interact with their mobile devices.

We're looking for a Software Development Manager to work closely with partners to design the best solutions for customers. You will build and manage a team of software developers to achieve engineering excellence and rapid, consistent delivery of mobile integration projects. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable with technology as they are designing innovative solutions. If you enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic environment and share our obsession with customer experience, then we want to talk to you.

Specifically, you will:
• Build a team of software developers that know how to communicate with one another and deliver excellent results through rapid iteration
• Establish a solid project framework and excellent development processes
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to your team members
• Be a technical guardian of world-class customer experience for your deliverables: continually raise the bar on functionality, flow, consistency, usability, and simplicity
• Work with internal and external partners and gets deals done
• Be a champion of engineering and operational excellence: establish metrics for measurement of engineering and operational excellence and a process for regular assessment and improvement
• Hire and develop top performing Engineers

Basic Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or related discipline
• 4-8 years' experience with managing a software development team
• Technical expertise including fluency in several popular programming languages
• Experience shipping one or more large-scale, highly available internet applications, client-server programming, load balancing, network security, and internet protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

• Mobile development experience
• Ecommerce development experience
• A proven track record of technological and business success
• Effective communications skills – can present to executive team
• Can build technical credibility
• Knows about hiring and firing
• Familiarity with Agile software methodologies
• Smart about choosing between fast and right
