Job 136431: Software Development Engineer
Zero Mass Engineering (ZME) develops innovative software solutions for on-demand manufacturing and printing companies. As a Software Development Engineer, you will work with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design, and bring to market innovative solutions to problems within all aspects of the on-demand manufacturing and printing industries, including production, provision of services, websites, and database management.
Position Overview
Our team will give you daily opportunities to use your ingenuity, drive, and passion to build world class, customer focused software. We´re working on the web service, database, and data management infrastructure of our next generation platform. This platform manages digital content, metadata, and feeds to external systems. We eat and breathe object-oriented design, high-quality code, stability, reliability, and operational excellence.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 4+ year relevant work experience
• 2+ years professional experience in software development
• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
• Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
• Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
• Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, or Java
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
• Architecture skills, knowledge of design patterns, and strong fundamentals
• Clear, professional communication skills able to contribute to team discussions, knowing when to contribute, when to listen, and when to ask questions
• Experience developing REST web services
• Experience developing high-performance database applications
• Proficiency in AJAX, JavaScript, and Java web programming
• You are the type of person that codes for fun, quickly wins the respect of peers, and jumps at the chance to share knowledge and mentor
