Sr. Systems Engineer - Cloud Connected Enterprise
This Sr. Systems Engineer will be a team member responsible for developing automation scripts, evaluating applications, integrating applications, designing complex systems, and implementing and providing ongoing training and support to the Nimsoft SaaS operational staff. The position is located at Nimsoft Cloud Connected Enterprise headquarters, located in a beautiful bay front campus just off of Hwy 101 in Redwood City.
Responsibilities:
• Research, design, develop, configure, integrate, test and maintain new and existing IT applications and solutions
• Develop UNIX automation scripts interacting with multiple interfaces
• Train and provide support to the infrastructure and operational staff
• Work with software developers to create integrated solutions for SaaS
• Participates in architecture reviews to ensure that proposed solutions comply with standards and use of approved technologies, and industry standard best practices
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of work experience with at least 3 years work experience in systems design and engineering
• Strong scripting skills under Linux, UNIX including bash, ksh, Perl, PHP, etc.
• Some scripting skills under Windows
• Strong general technical background
• Experience with SQL (MySQL, Oracle)
• Experience with virtualization and/or cloud computing infrastructures
• Strong networking knowledge and experiences
• Broad experience with web based computing services
• Veracious appetite for learning new things, not just broad learning but deep also
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with little guidance at times
• Understanding of software development methodologies
• BS in a technical field or equivalent education and industry experience
• Excellent communication skills
Considered a strong "plus" if the candidate is familiar with:
• 3Tera AppLogic Cloud computing infrastructure
• Nimsoft Infrastructure Monitoring
• Single Sign On technologies (preferably CA Siteminder)
• Java and/or C/C++
• LDAP
• REST and/or Web Services
• Oracle RAC deployment
