Job Description
The position is to conduct research and develop system and software architecture and solutions for quality of experience measurement / monitoring systems. Key responsibilities may include:

•The leadership and individual contribution to the development of signal-based objective speech/audio quality estimation and psychoacoustics modeling

•Software integration/implementation of the developed algorithms

•Technology trend analysis, requirements and functional/feature specifications

•Requirements analysis and specification of advanced services/applications, leading technologies, solutions, infrastructure, and components interfacing with internal business units and external customers as needed to understand solution/product requirements

•Internal/external product interface specifications

•Working with other members of the team in the areas of proprietary technology, innovation, and standards relevant to company products and solutions

You will be an important member of the advanced technology research team and will be a key thought leader for all research and development work under your supervision. You are responsible for providing leadership and technical direction to a dynamic corporate research division.

Skills
In-depth understanding of one or more of the areas:

•Knowledge and experience in psychoacoustics modeling

•Knowledge and experience in objective speech/audio quality assessment models

•Knowledge of advanced speech and audio compression

•Knowledge of advanced signal processing, such as adaptive filtering, noise cancellation, noise suppression, beam-forming and array processing

•Excellent understanding of standards for subjective/objective speech/audio quality evaluation

•Extensive experience in the analysis of speech/audio using various tools such as MATLAB, Adobe Audition, and objective evaluation tools.

•Excellent programming skills in C/C++

•Excellent project leadership skills

•Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

•Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and innovate

•Standards experience such as ITU, MPEG, ETSI, ATIS, 3GPP, 3GPP2, is a plus

•Knowledge and experience in assembly language or fixed-point programming is a plus

Education
Ph.D. in EE/CS. MS degree with minimum 3 or more years of relevant industrial experience.
