Title: Data Analyst
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Duration: 6+ months contract, renewed quarterly
There is an immediate opening for an experienced Marketing Reporter/Analyst to work in the Marketing organization at a Leading Networking company.
The Consultant in this role will be responsible for the following:
-Interact with business stakeholders to gather, document, and deliver on the necessary reporting and analytic requirements.
-Develop a data usage execution plan for a new product.
oIncludes identification of opportunities to gain insight from data.
oUnderstands reporting and statistical methods.
oAble to use Cognos and can ramp up quickly on other applications, as needed, in order to retrieve, report, and analyze data.
oMake recommendations based on the findings.
-Pull data from multiple data sources using SQL and other OLAP tools.
-Create dashboards and reports using Cognos.
Must-have skills:
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and PowerPoint proficiency.
- Cognos proficiency (preferred)
- Marketing / business functional area data expertise. This includes both online (usage data, log files) and product application data (customer data, purchase data).
- SQL and relational database proficiency.
- Excellent project management skills (effective communications, ability to meet timelines and deliver as expected, work with many stakeholders at different levels of the organization, manage stakeholder expectations).
- ***Ability to go-with-the-flow and shift priorities, as needed, to align with the dynamic / ever evolving business needs. ***
Preferred:
Prior experience working with SAS is ideal, but not required.
