Principal Researcher
The Principal Architect will develop system and software architecture for new generation platform of Content-oriented networking, Distributed computing/storage and Optimization, Semantic network and applications. You will be an important member of the advanced technology research team and will be a key thought leader for all product development. You are responsible for providing leadership and technical direction to an organization working on dynamic network solution, software development and application scenario.
Key responsibilities include:
•Lead a technical team to design and implement highly reliable, scalable, extensible, maintainable, global, and operable products and platforms.
•Draft and review architectural diagrams, interface specifications, class structures, and other design documents.
•Build systems that balance resources, constraints, requirements, and complexity
•Provide consulting services within number of Huawei 's business units and at the corporate level
•Present opportunities with cost/benefit analysis to leadership in order to shape decisions regarding Huawei's architectural strategy
•Evangelize technologies, solutions, and best practices developed with the organization
•Develop division-wide technical perspectives, standards, solutions, and strategies that resolve significant product or organizational pain-points
•Participate in a network of architects to share ideas, practices, and experiences
•Work closely with product management and development teams to define the next generation of media, communications, advertising, cloud, and data systems
•We value research architects who do enough hands-on implementation work to keep current with technology trends inside and outside the company
Position Requirements
•Subject matter expert in advanced technology development domain and principles, including leading research, strategic directions, design patterns, platform structure and prototype, continuous integration, and deployment architecture.
•Expertise in Internet systems design and implementation (both textbook and war stories)
•Demonstrated leadership in technologies that are core to Huawei's products (distributed systems, cloud computing, content management, indexing, database, editorial systems, web services, multi-tier serving architectures, machine learning, business intelligence, data mining, enterprise applications, mobile devices, and communications protocols)
•Analytical skills: complexity, capacity, performance, quality, logistics, statistics
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Experience with object-oriented technologies, including a range of design patterns
•Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and innovate.
•Experience with some combination of C, C++, Java, Perl, Python
•Excellent research project leadership skills
•Excellent understanding of Telecom/enterprise networks and protocols TCP/IP, OSPF/BGP
•Excellent understanding of current and emerging services/application on mobile networks, location-based services and distributed computing system.
•ndustry-wise credits on innovation and leadership are desirable
Education and Experience
•Typically MS in CS/EE or equivalent experience. Ph.D. is desirable.
•10+ years of directly related experience; 5+ years of technical leadership experience
•Working experience in well-known industry company is preferred.
