We are currently looking for experienced, skilled Android engineers who are passionate about developing dazzling consumer oriented mobile applications that uses rich internet media and multimedia technologies. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in defining and building network-enabled wireless data applications and you will get a chance to work with some of the best technical folks in the mobile industry.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Architect, design and develop network and resource efficient messaging, social mobile applications on Android platform, utilizing Seven's core protocol stack.
Develop infrastructure components on the Android platform that will enable the above applications to work seamlessly with the backend servers.
Rapid prototyping of Android mobile applications
Investigate new and upcoming application spaces/technologies for the Android platform, that will bolster Seven's product suite.
Integrate applications with OEM custom Android UI, such as TimeScape, and TouchWiz.
Work in conjunction with Product Management, and UX teams on user interface and usability aspects of application design
Analyze application requirements and generate engineering functional specifications
Work closely with cross functional engineering teams (Server, QA etc)
Support multiple Android platforms and multiple Android devices with varied form factors.
Collaborate with handset OEMs, and carriers for application integration, porting and verification
Skills and Experience Required:

B.S. in Computer Science
Passionate about developing top-notch mobile applications. At least 5 years of experience in developing client/server mobile applications.
2+ years experience in designing & developing Android applications
Solid understanding of software life cycle and related tools
Motivated self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated experience in client-server based product model.
In-depth understanding of the Android application framework and application deployment, including UI, widgets, content providers, sqlite3, networking, IPC mechanisms, multi-threading, services.
Solid working knowledge of Android development environment and tools: Eclipse, ADT, ant. Working knowledge of JUnit.
Excellent problem solving and debugging skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent team player. Work across multi-site development teams.
J2ME development experience a plus
Understanding of XMPP, XML, SOAP, HTTP a plus
Knowledge of relational databases and SQL a plus
