We are seeking for a senior ArcSDE administrator to manage our existing ESRI databases and build new ESRI ArcSDE databases in a UNIX environment
Responsibilities
o Develop data model(s) and document use cases for different GIS datasets
o Develop, and implement ArcSDE feature datasets and classes several GIS datasets
o Establish and develop maintenance procedures for GIS datasets
o Develop and create maintenance procedures for ArcSDE tuning and performance monitoring
o Develop and establish procedures for maintaining ArcSDE database security
o Develop and maintain database triggers, spatial views and PL/SQL scripts
o Troubleshooting ArcSDE for connectivity, access, performance and other issues
o Support versioning, compression, reconciliation and replication
o Manage Geometric Networks, Relationship classes and Indexes
o Knowledge of various coordinate systems and performing coordinate transformations
o Provide consultation to development teams
o Develop procedures for applying service packs and upgrades for ArcSDE
o Create technical and functional design documents
o Provide on call support for production systems. Work with team members, supervisor, and client organizations as appropriate to achieve this result.
Minimum Required Qualifications
o Minimum of 10 years experience in GIS development.
o Over 5 years experience in ArcSDE. Extensive hands on experience with deployment of ArcSDE in a large enterprise environment and experience with UNIX implementation is required
o Extensive knowledge in ESRI Product suite and underlying oracle database.
o Having in depth knowledge and experience in performance tuning SDE Databases.
o Demonstrated ability to support business end users and production issues.
o Advanced knowledge and experience with GIS industry principles, theories and best practices
o Knowledge of utility company functions and Miner and Miner is an advantage
o Knowledge of SDO in Oracle is an advantage
o Advanced knowledge of SQL applied to Geodatabase
o Advanced understanding of GIS data formats, data conversion and data maintenance concepts
o Knowledge and experience with editing scenarios in a multiuser Geodatabase
o Advanced knowledge and experience with python and Perl scripting applied to Geodatabase
o Minimum Bachelor´s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
