Position: Unix System Administrator with VMWare and Web Servers experience
Work Location: Modesto, CA
Pay Rate: Market
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 3+ months Contract to Hire
Description/Deliverables:
• Configure, Administer, tune and optimize systems servers and related components to achieve high availability and performance of the various business applications supported.
• Troubleshooting and diagnostics of common network problems, hardware and software upgrades, and provide technical support as required.
Required skills:
• 3~5 years of related experience in administration/troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of: VMWare ESX, ESX express V-Motion, Microsoft Windows Systems, Windows O.S. Server family, SUSE, Ubuntu, and CentOL Linux, SAN Technology, and various database systems.
• Knowledge and experience in PHP, Perl, Java, Javascript, MSSQL, MYSQL, PostgreSQL.
• Experience with web server technologies including Apache, Tomcat, and IIS in Windows and Linux environments.
• Understanding of mobile technologies surrounding iPhone, Android, and Blackberry.
• Understanding of best security practices around web technologies (SQL injections, cross site scripting etc)
• Xymon knowledge a plus.
