We are seeking highly motivated individual to join our Usability team and assist in designing next generation of computer input devices and interaction methods. This person should have experience in wide range of usability methods and be keen to perform a wide variety of usability tasks. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, extremely detail-oriented and able to work effectively in dynamic environment. The candidate needs to be capable of working both independently and in close cooperation with others. This person is expected to support a user-centered product design process that integrates usability at every level.

Primary responsibilities include designing and conducting usability studies; analyzing and reporting the results. Additional responsibilities include working with platform engineering teams to set usability goals for platform projects and provide support to platform teams regarding any usability issue including but not limited to interpreting usability data and usability/HCI relevant research during the platform design process.

The candidate will be responsible for tracking usability progress and report the progress toward meeting usability goals to platform engineering and business units management. The candidate will assist in the management of the usability lab – work on schedule, intern training, equipment etc. The candidate needs to be able to effectively communicate and represent usability issues to platform development teams. Excellent writing and presentation skills are highly desirable.

• MS/Ph.D in HCI , Human Factors, Computer Science, EE, , Industrial and System Engineering or other related fields.
• In-depth knowledge of usability practices and principles.
• Ability to plan and conduct usability studies.
• Ability to create testing protocols and recruiting screeners
• Ability to conduct and oversee qualitative and quantitative data analyses.
• Ability to perform expert usability reviews – heuristic evaluations.
• Conduct and oversee product research, usability studies, qualitative interviews, and behavioral observations
• Excellent reasoning and problem solving skills
• Skilled in verbal and written communication,
• Ability to work in cross-disciplinary environment.
• Experience with the design and/or development of computer input devices.
• Knowledge of sensor technology.
• Experience in GUI design
• Excellent programming skills. C/C++ programming
• Strong background in "real world" data acquisition, modeling and analysis.
