Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 12+ months
(International travel may be required)
Job Description:
Acting as a System Analyst within a multinational project team, you will be responsible for gathering technical requirements, interfacing with engineering managers, and then supporting technical implementation as it progresses. The overall project team is responsible for integrating a multinational (and multiproduct) software development company into a much larger company. Your role will be to collect and analyze information about the software engineering groups IT infrastructure and development tools (such as SCM, build, and defect tracking applications). Under the guidance of other team members (project managers and architects) you will aid in the migration to the larger companys engineering model.
In this role, you should expect frequent meetings (both in-person and via teleconference) across multiple time zones. You must also be willing to provide timely responses to end-user questions or concerns. You must be flexible in your approach and adapt to working in a multi time zone environment. International travel may also be required.
Skills required:
- 5 years of experience are required.
- Experience as a software developer in a medium-to-large software development company, with a clear understanding of how these organizations operate.
- Significant experience using software engineering tools and applications, such as SCM tools, defect tracking applications, software build systems, and code analysis tools. You must have an appreciation for the workflow and relationships between these tools.
-Excellent verbal and written communication. The ability to collect, analyze and summarize important ideas.
- Thorough working knowledge of various business process and system modeling tools including data flow diagrams, process models, diagrams, dimensional data models, context models, event modeling, state modeling, process decomposition, and use case scenario
- In depth knowledge of system development life cycle and can train others on SDLC concepts
- Able to assess the impact of new requirements on an existing suite of complex applications
-Technical writing skills producing clear and unambiguous content
- Solid analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience with software development automation
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook with a good understanding of SmartArt
