We are looking for a dynamic Director of Product Management to lead our Product Management team at SunRun Inc. SunRun is a dynamic, growing company that´s leading the way in residential solar financing. Our mission is to make residential solar affordable for every homeowner that wants it, and we´ve got thousands of satisfied customers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania already enjoying clean residential solar power.
SunRun pioneered the residential solar power purchase agreement in 2007, and since then we´ve grown to become the most popular and trusted residential solar financing solution in the nation.
SunRun is backed by top investors Accel Partners, Foundation Capital and Sequoia Capital. We also receive project financing from PG&E Corporation and U.S. Bancorp.
What you will do:
• Lead development of the roadmap for SunRun's suite of software applications and ensure buy-in from internal and external stakeholders.
• Deeply understand and describe internal and external customer needs (stated and unstated) and segment customers as necessary.
• Create business cases supporting applications and features on the roadmap.
• Quantify benefits of proposed features and prioritize accordingly.
• Partner with business groups (Marketing, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Finance) to develop product strategy that supports business goals, and deliver innovative features that exceed expectations.
• Map existing internal and external customer business processes in detail.
• Translate needs and current processes into a re-engineered vision that meets project objectives
• Deliver high-level MRDs and businesses cases with application flow, basic wireframes and prioritized feature list that are consistent with SunRun's product vision and roadmap.
• Deliver detailed use cases and user stories for required features, operating within an agile development environment.
• Lead evaluation of 3rd party software providers and make recommendations on build/buy decisions based on prioritized goals (both business and technical).
• Lead cross functional product team.
• Work closely with Engineering to drive the timely and quality release of new products and features that meet or exceed market requirements.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years of software product management experience.
• Demonstrated success defining and launching software products/services.
• Demonstrated success building and executing against product roadmaps that allocate resources across several products/projects.
• Experience building software tools for internal and/or channel partner "customers".
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams without formal authority.
• Experience creating consumer website and/or online portal applications that have exceeded performance objectives.
• Strong understanding of applications architecture; engineering background a plus.
• Experience in an agile/scrum development process.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and analytical skills as well as outstanding written and oral communication skills.
• Verbal descriptions and at least one written sample of an effective product management document delivered previously.
• Experience in electricity markets and specifically solar energy is preferred.
