Position Title:

Development Support Engineer

Position Description:

Provide technical support via phone and email to customers. Participate in presales activities and provide presales support to customers and sales team around ABBYY products including OCR Engine SDK and data capture products. Deliver product demos and presentations. Occasional travel may be required. Participate in occasional Professional Services projects as a software developer.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Provide support issues from customers and delegate or respond according to the appropriate service level agreement

2) Isolation and reproduction of product problems, file reports, and assist HQ development to provide timely workarounds and fixes to our regional customers

3) Provide consultative advice to customers related to usage and integration of ABBYY products

4) Develop applications in C++ and C# as PS deliverables or samples that demonstrate products capabilities and usage techniques to customers

5) Provide presales support to sales team and potential customers

6) Other activities as assigned

Mandatory Skill Set/Requirements:

1) Quick learner who can grasp new technologies, concepts and processes

2) Minimum of 2 years working with C++ and/or C# languages

3) Working knowledge of COM and ActiveX technologies, .NET platform.

4) Good understanding of Linux

5) Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills

6) Able to quickly identify problems and define innovative solutions

7) Professional demeanor and able to work in "highly charged" environments

8) Positive client focused attitude

9) Minimum Bachelors Degree in CS or related – OR Equivalent work experience

Desirable Skills:

- Experience or knowledge of Data Capture products and ECM Industry
- Team Lead or project management experience
- Working knowledge of Web Based development including SOAP, XML Web Services AJAX, Java, Jscript
- Fluent in Russian, Japanese or other foreign languages
