Technical Account Manager – SIMICS Solution

Technical

- A senior level software engineer. Not just a coder, but someone who is experienced with software architecture, software design, software coding and testing
- Strong programming skills in multiple languages (at least C/C++, but Python, assembly, Ada, Perl, etc.)
- Experience with developing device drivers, firmware, BSPs, hardware bring-up
- Ability to read & understand programmer´s reference manuals for hardware devices
- An understanding of digital systems, how various components (such as CPU, memory, UARTs, DMA controllers, ethernet, etc.) operate & interact with each other
- Experience with software engineering and software engineering methodology (e.g. UML, iterative development, extreme programming, etc.)
- Experience with application-level software development (understands the issues involving large application development efforts of millions of lines of code or large (>15) teams of developers)
- Experience with Real Time Operating Systems and cross-development tools
- Experience managing engineering teams in the past (or been a lead developer)
- Experience in the Networking vertical market
- A fundamental understanding of how networking works, especially the low-level layers
- At least 5-10 years of experience working in the real-world
- Basically, our TAMs need to be better than our typical customers´ engineers

Education

- BS degree in an engineering discipline, preferably computer science or computer engineering or software engineering (without this, there needs to be a considerable amount of professional experience in these fields instead)

Others
- Self motivated, self disciplined, self starting, self sufficient
- Excellent giving presentations in front of groups of people
- Able to prioritize tasks
- An understanding of basic business & sales principals
- Not afraid of a challenge
- Quick on the feet (can answer hard questions fast)
- Outgoing and personable
- Comfortable in the role as a "change agent" (i.e. ability to engage with a customer and significantly impact their current software development approach/process such that it incorporates the value of Wind River's SIMICS solution in their everyday approach to developing their applications)

Note: We do not list ´simulation´ as a required skill or experience. While it would be nice for a TAM to know SIMICS or a competitor´s simulation product coming into this role, we believe it is much easier for a person skilled with software engineering to learn simulation on the job rather than to try to take someone who knows simulation but doesn´t understand software and/or what our customer´s daily pain points are.
