This role is ideal for a solid backend Java engineer, but someone who can articulate the overall product. It is a senior role on a very small team!
This role will have a high impact in the design and development of our platform for an industry-leading technology in the cleantech space. There will be a particularly heavy emphasis on high-performance, large-scale architecture and clustering technologies.
In this position, he/she will work closely with the Director of Engineering to evaluate new feature requests, prototype, and design and implement new software components. Ability to analyze performance of components and the overall system to then identify bottlenecks, and suggest detailed improvements in the code / architecture would be required. The engineer will use their excellent communications skills to share the hi-level architecture and design of components. The engineer will also be expected to continually stay up-to-date with technical developments in the field of server development and security.
Requirements:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent required (MS desired)
8 years+ software development experience
Solid core Java skills
Experience with object oriented design methodology and design patters
Experience building core EMS or NMS systems
Hands on experience and clear understanding of high volume data traffic deployment
Experience with SQL programming and development experience in Databases such as Oracle, MySQL, DB2 or other databases.
Knowledge of advanced Java topics such as multithreading, garbage collection, etc.
Experience with object – relational persistence paradigms (e.g. Hibernate)
Prior experience in performance turning, scalability issues, clustering, and reliability concerns
Proficient at problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and problem solving
Previous experience with networking and network management systems is preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Self driven quick learner with attention to details and quality
