My client is a rapidly growing networking company in the valley. They are growing their test group and need a proven manager or director for this role.
The System Test Manager will be responsible for hands-on testing, as well as providing strategic and operational leadership to the team performing validation and verification of our wireless products. The person in this role will be responsible for managing the System Test team to ensure goals are met by managing all aspects of our System Test function including overall planning, creating/reviewing requirements/specifications, test plan development, design, review and execution. This person will need to lead the team in the development of test beds, tool selection, and automation development. Continue to build an effective test organization by driving the recruiting and hiring of System Test engineers, developing and managing the group, and conducting performance reviews of team members
Position Requirements:
5+ years experience, including management of system test for a network equipment company.
1-3 years of hands on technical system test management and staff management for a network equipment company.
Strong management, organizational and process skills.
BS in Computer Science or equivalent, advanced degree preferred
Individual with a proven track record of successfully driving the System Test process to maturity and is able to clearly communicate goals, decisions and recommendations to appropriate parties
Excellent team building skills, including cross-functional team building
Strong SQA background required
Technical Requirements:
Solid understanding of Linux OS tools and utilities, wireless and Ethernet drivers, and Linux kernel internals.
Solid knowledge of networking protocols
PLUS: Solid knowledge of the 802.11a/b/g standards and experience testing compatibility and interop with 3rd party devices (wireless and wired).
Expert knowledge of 802.11 standards including 802.1x, 802.11i, and WPA.
Experience in testing carrier accounting and authentication requirements including RADIUS, VLAN, and tunneling support.
