Title: Senior Vice President of Engineering

Salary: $120k Base Salary plus bonus with stock options

Company: Our Company is a Stage 2 tech company directly offering its, inventory control and asset management, system to the hospitality industry, including; hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs. As a dynamic, well managed and well funded organization, whose product has been 3 years in development, we are now setting the stage for a large and rapid roll out of our system across the domestic hospitality sector. Although our product is a technology based product, we are not selling technology but rather a solution, ROI, and service to small and medium sized businesses and large corporate groups. Currently with 30 plus staff our company will grow to 150 over the next 2 years, including some 75 Sales and Business Development staff, domestically.

Position: The Senior Vice President of Engineering candidate will have extensive experience leading software product development organizations, as well as RFID, sensor network and wireless products and solutions. He/She will responsible for the architecture & implementation of the company's new generation of inventory control and asset management strategies, perform complex analytical work in providing office engineering and field engineering support for multiple product lines ensuring technical competence and product design compliance. He/She will work closely with other functional leaders in the company, including those in software, operations, finance, sales, and marketing and will be responsible for all of the company's products such as the bar management system, top shelf and stockroom solutions, and new development activities.

A highly collaborative and open leadership style will be critical to work effectively across the many constituents required for success in this role. Solid understanding of engineering technical issues/needs, financial, sales, and marketing as related to product design and development are key as well as strong management capabilities and mature business judgment with the ability to balance conflicting priorities.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science; MS preferred, with at least 10 years in a senior management position. Past experience with Project Management and/or management of subcontractors is highly desired. We are looking for only the best, hands on, and technically capable and well-rounded talent to become an integral part of our team. The position reports to the SEVP.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and direct the overall engineering activities of multiple design departments to include budgeting, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects.
• Develop and lead strategic planning for and direction and control of beverage inventory and management product development activities.
• Manage technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project involvement, for all hardware development.
• Ensure the optimal application of technology and engineering resources to meet product development and marketing requirements, per the product and/or marketing requirements document.
• Develop and lead new product introduction from engineering prototypes through production release with a complete bill of materials.
• Actively involved in hire and direct staff of senior group members and directors to get necessary resources and plan to meet scheduled commitments.
• Plan and direct the overall engineering activities of multiple design departments to include budgeting, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
• Ensure products are designed in accordance with DFT and DFM standards and review and analyze daily market requirements.
• Establish specific RoHS & WEEE strategies for products sold in Europe and define a compliant transition strategy for OEM.
• Manage development of engineering specifications, document control and change control processes, organize change submissions, facilitate approval process, finalize change records, and release finished documents.
• Ensure engineering goals, cost reduction, and quality objectives are meet in time.
• Provide visible and effective leadership within the company as well as with customers and partners.

Requirements:

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science; MS preferred.
• At least 10 years in a senior management position.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage a highly effective outside engineering team.
• Strong management capabilities and mature business judgment with the ability to balance conflicting priorities.
• Must know how to work collaboratively with other teams.


Desirable:

• Advanced degree.
• Project Management and/or management of subcontractors is highly desired.
