Job Title: Staff/Principal Manufacturing Product Engineer/Optical components and modules

Job Description:
Our client is an established global company with headquarters in Sunnyvale. Their products are high speed optical connectivity solutions, targeting a broad range of markets, including datacenters all the way to to consumer electronics. Their technology takes advantage of high-volume low-cost manufacturing techniques leveraged from the semiconductor industry.

Specific Duties include:
• Own the release of manufacturable, low cost, and reliable product including representing operations during the initial product concept phase of the project, taking the concept to a manufacturing line, and coordinating activities with both internal groups and external partners.
• Complete statistical analysis of product tolerances to determine product yield to specification.
• Develop and execute characterization plans for optical components.
• Drive manufacturing partners to improve yields and lower costs.
• Work with Product Engineering teams to determine electrical compliance of optical assembly.
• Work closely with QA during product development to document qualification test and requirements.
• Work closely with key customers to drive aggressive production ramp schedules/requirements.
• Work closely with customers on any product related issues that they may experience.

Required Skills:
• MSME, MSMS or equivalent
• Minimum of 4-6 years of direct experience in optical module design, testing, and manufacturing for both telecom and commercial applications.
• Knowledge of material properties relative to manufacturing of optical and mechanical components used in optical modules.
• Experience in material selection and evaluation for optical and mechanical components used in optical modules.
• Working understanding of optical standards applicable to mechanical and reliability requirements (ie GR-468-CORE, etc).
• Working knowledge of supplier base for optical component manufacturing and assembly
