A Palo Alto startup is looking for a talented, motivated system administrator to manage our growing production and development environments. We are a small team, and you will have a big impact on the roll-out of a high profile, mobile+ location+social service.
Required experience:
- high-availability linux deployments
- rails and/or similar application servers
- clustering (web app)
- service monitoring
- cloud-based services (EC2 or Rackspace, etc.)
- deployment automation (Capistrano, etc.)
Helpful:
- db clustering experience (mysql)
- load testing
- continuous integration
This is a salaried position + options. You should be able to articulate why you´d like to work for an early-stage startup. You should be comfortable and extremely proficient with linux or Mac as your daily workstation. You need to be ready to be the "go-to" guy at a company running a 24/7 consumer service, and you should have a very good understanding of what that entails (not to mention how to preserve your own sanity in the process, including through automation).
