Duties

-Provide general functional support to Commerce LifeCycle Architects and Project teams
-Responsible for authoring and maintenance of Application Architecture artefacts for Commerce Lifecycle program includes documentation, designs and diagrams
-Responsible for review and contribution to Technical/Functional solution designs for Commerce Lifecycle program
- Closely partner with Architects to develop Enterprise Portal vision and strategy
- Contribute at meetings, workshops and information presentations on behalf of Application Architecture team

Skills

-The IT Application Architect designs and maintains the target architecture for existing and future IT applications.

-This role is responsible for assessing the requirements for future application architecture changes and identifying the techniques and technologies that should be applied at the application level; helping define the system and operational requirements that the computing infrastructure must support; and identifying, analyzing and addressing any inter-application dependencies and interfaces.

-The IT Application Architect will work closely with other Architects and the Service Delivery Managers who are working directly with the Service Provider to determine the most appropriate application blueprint to achieve performance and scalability requirements.

-He/she may participate in business and technology planning sessions and will be responsible for anticipating future business/technology changes.

-The IT Application Architect works with Business and Information Architects to review business drivers, needs and strategies and understand implications to the application architecture while also to communicate implications of architectural decisions, issues and plans to business and technology leadership.

- The role provides support and guidance to the Service Delivery Management Teams during the analysis, development and testing processes; provides expert knowledge of application architecture and consultation to Business and Technology teams when detailed application architecture knowledge is needed, and identifies and mitigates risks to delivering IT solutions on time.

Primary Responsibilities
- Acts as a subject matter expert in application architecture strategy
- Contributes technical guidance to the development of applications to support business strategies
- Conducts audit or review of Architecture & Standards with Service Provider
- Approves application and system documentation used in design, testing or programming efforts
- Recommends new technologies and leads the development of new IT standards and processes based on industry standards and best practices
- Oversees and approves creation and maintenance of application and system documentation used in design, testing or programming efforts
- Assist in creation of Service Level Agreements and metric identification

Education -
MS/MBA/MA degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Technical Equivalent, applicable certification or equivalent experience

- 10 or more years of enterprise level application design/architecture experience
- Wide range and in depth experience and understanding of application analysis, development, implementation, and support
- Proven ability to guide technical strategies
- Mature development practices experience (CMM-lv3, RUP, etc.)
- Expert level knowledge of UML (sequence diagrams, class diagrams, state transition diagrams, activity diagrams, etc.)
- Demonstrated understanding of fundamental technologies: Operating System/Networking, Middleware, Security, Databases, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact with all technical and non-technical members of the organization
- Extensive understanding of IT best practices, IT Service Management (ITSM), ITIL, COBIT, CMMI
