Skyline is working with a dynamic startup in the Big Data space focused on delivering cloud-based predictive analytics to mid to large B2C enterprises. The company is backed by a premier venture firm, has a reputed founding team and has marquee customers, and is located in Santa Clara.
This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to join at the ground floor of a fast moving startup in a massive market that is seeing tremendous discontinuity. We are looking for highly motivated people with a can-do attitude and exceptional skills and passion who will thrive in a fast paced environment that requires delivering high quality results, team work, desire to take on tasks that may be outside the defined role, and creatively address challenges. They are looking for a stellar QA Engineer to join their team.
Specific Duties include:
Setting up automated and manual test beds in distributed Linux, Hadoop and MySQL environment for Amazon cloud based services.
Developing QA test plans and test cases.
Functionality testing is using white-box and black-box testing techniques.
Devising performance test cases over large data sets and their execution.
Setup, integration and management of QA tools like issue tracking, reporting and quality monitoring.
Required Skills:
BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering fields.
5+ years experience in both QA Automation and manual testing
Sound knowledge of Linux system shell scripting and utilities.
In depth experience in at least one scripting language like PERL.
MySql or any other RDBMS management and knowledge of SQL.
Experience in Java automated test framework, preferably JUNIT or similar other open source testing framework.
Good Communication skills and teamwork.
Desired Skills:
Manual and automated based Web Applications testing.
Setting up and management of Apache Tomcat application server with PHP and MySql.
Experience testing software products in cloud based environment.
Experience in Big Data or related domain.
Basic Hadoop management skills.
Basic Java programming skills.
Basic Linux systems management.
Basic SQL database management.
Basic network management.
