[KITlist-Tech] CONTR: Director of Competitive Intelligence – Data warehousing – 5609 (Peninsula, CA)

The Sage Group is looking for a Director of Competitive Intelligence focused on Database/Data Warehousing products for an enterprise level company located in the Peninsula area. This candidate will work closely with our clients' sales, product management and product marketing teams to position their database/data warehousing products against their key competitors. This role will involve conducting deep competitive analysis on the database/data warehousing market that will be used to develop content and sales tool creation, sales training and deal support. This role will report directly to the VP of Competitive Intelligence.

Responsibilities Include

-Conduct deep on-going competitive research and analysis of competitors' database & data warehousing strategies.

-Provide actionable competitive intelligence, sales tools, trainings, etc. to serve the needs of the field sales team (cheat sheets, whitepapers, slide sets, newsletter articles, etc.) with new information and defensible analysis to position our clients' products against their competition.

-Evaluate ongoing tracking and analysis of key database/data warehousing competitors (including on-premises and cloud), and emerging competitive threats and trends.

-Work closely with the internal Competitive Intelligence team in engineering, server, storage and middleware to enhance our client's solutions against their key competitors.


Skills Required

-5+ years of experience conducting competitive analysis focused in the area of database/data warehousing with a strong understanding of customer needs and business goals

-Experience working in a database/data warehousing industry analyst role or either a product sales, product management or product marketing position

-Ability to provide key insights into various database/data warehousing products from one of the following companies: IBM, Microsoft, SAP/Sybase, Teradata, Oracle or similar

-Proven experience analyzing database/data warehousing products at a deep technical level that results can be utilized for pre-sales/sales but in addition to testing, using and product implementation

-Ability to prioritize multiple projects/deliverables to successful completion

Skills Preferred

-Master Degree

-Experience presenting results/key findings to key stakeholders and sales/training organizations
