Our client is currently seeking a Product Manager with Insurance Applications experience for contract to hire on an initial 3-4 month period in the Emeryville, CA.
Client is located 10 minute bus trip from the MacArthur BART station and Emeryville also runs a free shuttle from BART called the Emery Go Round

Product manager will primarily focus on insurance applications. You will be expected to utilize your full range of product management skills including identifying user needs, developing requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product innovation for insurance applications.
Responsibilities:
1) Manage cross-functional teams – marketing and multiple engineering groups
2) Write MRDs, PRDs, functional specs and other supporting documentation
3) Lead products through their entire life cycle
4) Work with multiple departments and teams to identify and resolve issues, addressing on both short-term (Standard Operation Procedures) as well as long-term solutions (PRD / Functional Spec)
5) Defining the vision, product strategy and road map for multiple areas of the product and working with key stakeholders in the company to deliver on that vision
6) Defining detailed requirements, working closely with developers through designs, making tactical decisions and working through corner-cases identified by customers or application teams
7) Work with engineering, design, marketing, customer care, and the rest of the PM teams to develop/prioritize requirements into PRDs and drive projects to completion
8) Manage the preparation and analysis of technical options, and make recommendations on development issues.
9) Manage development of detailed Product Functional Requirements.
10) Ensure development of key artifacts including detailed process flows, wire frames, mockups, etc.
11) Manage the preparation of technical requirements section of product requirements documents
12) Develop and maintain comprehensive requirements documents to guide development and project management teams.
13) Ability to interact, direct & influence cross-functional teams that span the organization
14) Apply innovation principles and tools to create ideas for new products.
Qualifications:
1) Minimum of 10 years experience
2) 3 or more years insurance applications experience
3) 3 to 5 years' experience with web product development
4) Experience with senior executive communication and interaction.
5) Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to take functional requirements and communicate them to development staff.
6) Excellent organizational, statistical, analytical, written and oral presentation skills
7)Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent in training and experience.
