The Senior Software Development Engineer is paramount to the success of the software systems development team.
The scope of this key role requires a thorough understanding of technical concepts essential for specialized software development. It is considered critical for the Senior Software Engineer to engage their specialized knowledge, creativity, company practices and priorities to obtain solutions to complex technical challenges.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
* Identifying systems needs and plans, designs and implements potential enhancements.
* Interfacing and involved with hardware design and development - as software systems' work may affect hardware architecture decisions.
* Establishing the processes needed for new and existing systems.
* Providing work leadership to others. May review and mentor the work of less experienced software engineers.
* Interfacing with senior and product management to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding project direction.
* Leading multiple projects
Key qualifications for this position include:
* BS/MS and 4+ years or equivalent experience with Linux development
* Knowledge of uboot/drivers
* Experience with C/C++ development
* Protocol/sockets programming
* Scripting experience a plus in Perl, PhP, shell
* Ability to work in a team or individual contributor environments
* Software Engineering development process knowledge
* Skilled in Presenting - can effectively communicate in large or small group settings
* Skilled in Writing - can effectively write so needed messages are clear and understood
Extra credit for experience with:
* Embedded device development experience
* Practical experience developing and delivering C/C++ products under Linux
* Ability to document designs/architecture
