The Government Systems team in Boulder seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer to join and contribute to the success of the software systems development team.
It is considered critical for the Senior Software Engineer to engage their specialized knowledge, creativity, company practices and priorities to obtain solutions to complex technical challenges.

Key responsibilities for this role include:
• Identifying systems needs and plans, designs and implements potential enhancements.
• Interfacing and involved with hardware design and development - as software systems' work may affect hardware architecture decisions.
• Establishing the processes needed for new and existing systems.
• Providing work leadership to others.
• Interfacing with senior management to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding project direction.
• Leading multiple projects.
• May review and mentor the work of less experienced software engineers.

Requirements
The scope of this key role requires a thorough understanding of technical concepts essential for specialized software development.

Additional qualifications for this key role include:
• BSCS/BSEE or equivalent
• 4+ years experience in writing application level code in C++ in a UNIX or Linux programming environment
• US Citizenship is essential for this position
• Substantial experience with object-oriented software design
• Experience with writing multi-threaded applications
• Comfortable working with complex algorithms and numeric processing
• Strong written, verbal, collaboration communication and team relationship skills.

Desired qualifications include:
• MSCS/MSEE degree
• Software architecture design
• Strong knowledge of software build systems and release procedures
• Experience using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, time interval counters and logic analyzers
• Scripting languages, such as Python, bash, etc.
