Manager of IT

We have an immediate opening for a hands-on IT Manager to manage our web development, help desk, facilities, and infrastructure. As a software development company, IT is central to our ability to write code, make sales, and market ourselves—you will be the type of person who knows how to manage multiple competing projects and work across the organization to ensure success. You are part Hannibal Smith and part Macgyver: you will have a plan, an A-team of five talented engineers, lots of tools, and you can use them to solve impossible problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage the help desk responsible for purchasing and provisioning of new machines (predominantly Macintosh), upgrading existing machines, troubleshooting application and machine problems, asset management, and generally making our entire team here at Appcelerator super productive.
* Manage network, phone, and printer operations including troubleshooting connectivity problems, acquisition, installation, and maintenance of equipment, assigning rights and access, and assessing and reporting operational status.
* Implement, administrate, and maintain our databases, local, and cloud-based servers including provisioning, backups and restores, upgrades, and monitoring.
* Manage our backend computing solutions including Jira, Confluence, and all website design and development on our PHP and Wordpress-based web servers.
* Handle all aspects of our facilities including maintenance, capacity planning, build-out, and assessment of new properties, negotiation, and leases.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience in a fast-paced start up environment where IT solutions are critical to business success.
* Mac OS
* 3+ years as an IT manager and 5+ years of direct experience in various IT department functions
* Minimum Bachelors in IT or equivalent experience.
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects to completion in a timely manner
* Experience working with geographically diverse teams and locations including China, UK, and remote employees
* Experience with managing Jira, Confluence, Wordpress, and PHP-based frameworks.
* Strong personal management, communication, and technical writing skills.
* Demonstrated negotiation skills with third parties, vendors, contractors and consultants.
* Familiar with cloud-based provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting (preferably AWS).
