IT Business Analyst (PACE&Portia)
Responsibilities Work with IT professionals to deliver production quality of data for internal systems & users. Responsible for managing the various data request queues, negotiating priorities, setting expectations, and communicating progress to the users. Person will have domain knowledge pertinent to the investment process and to the asset management business and have sufficient technical background to guide technical specialists in architecting data/business solutions.
Job Requirements: Data Analyst Requirements:
Work with Data vendors
Able to use Microsoft tools such as Access and Excel for the data analysis
Able to analyze data in RDBMS tables (Oracle/SQL Server) by using SQL
Able to analyze data in flat files and in other formats
Able to document import/export (data feed) mappings
Experience with Visio
Business Analyst Requirements:
Familiar with the characteristics of equity and fixed-income securities and derivatives (futures, currency forwards, and swaps).
Understands how to derive market values, accrued interest and unrealized gains/losses.
Able to combine and inter-relate account/security master, holdings, corporate actions and prices.
Must have sufficient understanding of securities and the investment management process to be able to resolve issues from start to end with no or little supervision.
Able to analyze and extract traded and settled transactions/positions and adjust for revisions.
To be able to understand data management group/PMs requests/issues easily.
Analyze any data issues reported by the business users then work with developers needed.
General Requirements:
5 or more years Business Analyst supporting an Asset Management firm (such as TCW, WAM, Goldman)
3 years of PACE experience (Uploaders, Exporters, data model, reference data, data mart, OLAP reporting, integration and support)
2 years of Portia experience (Data import, data model, smf, prices, corporate actions, integration and support)
Bachelor's degree in Business or MBA or related.
Able to effectively understand requirements and communicate findings in writing and verbally.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsible for the requirements gathering, analyze, design, solution and testing.
Able to think through and ultimately give guidance on how to resolve business data issues
Able to work in a project team setting. Experience with Visio
