Wind River in Alameda, CA has a 6-12 month contract opportunity available for an experience ClearCase Software Configuration Engineer.
- Responsible for ClearCase and Multisite Administration in a global setting. This includes definition, implementation and monitoring of VOB and view management.
- Responsible for resolution of day to day user ClearCase problems, maintenance of scripts (including web-based) and periodic off-hours emergency support.
- Work with project-level CM teams to implement common process and procedures,
- Assist in ClearCase environment performance monitoring
- Manage ClearCase software and hardware planning and deployment.
- Assist in the generation, maintenance and change control of configuration management and build-related tools.
Requirements:
- 7+ years experience in software configuration management
- 7+ years commercial software industry experience
- Exceptional Rational ClearCase Skills (user and administrative level) on Solaris, Windows and Linux
- Experience administering ClearCase in a worldwide Multisite environment
- Strong Scripting abilities: csh and perl, tcl a plus
- Previous experience with large-scale software product deliverables, configuration management (ClearCase, SVN, CVS)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Self Motivator with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to take ownership of issues and ensure they are resolved in a timely manner
- Comfortable working in a rapidly evolving operational environment. Must have adaptability to change, ability to overcome obstacles without compromising process
- Proven track record of strong issue tracking/resolution and cooperative negotiation skills
- Detail oriented, follows the process meticulously and according to the documented procedures
- B.S. Computer Science or equivalent
Highly Desired:
- Familiarity with Rational ClearQuest
- CMM level 2 experience
- Experience administering SVN and CVS repositories
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring and working with current Linux distributions
- Experience as a system engineer and/or development engineer is preferred.
- Experience with Electric Cloud Build Accelerator a plus.
