JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our client, a very cool gaming company located in SF designs, develops and markets gaming accessories. They make ergonomic, cosmetic headsets, along with other cool gaming accessories. The company employs 20 people in its San Francisco and Shenzhen office and serves as its own marketer and retailer, serving gamers worldwide. They are seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to add to their team. The Firmware Engineers work continuously with world class technologists, industrial designers, marketers, the gaming community, cross functional engineering teams and ODM's to create high end gaming equipment. This position requires familiarity with the full design cycle for high volume products employing high quality components from brainstorming through tooling into production. Strong technical design and analysis capabilities are also required.

Specific Duties include:
Ability to understand individual and commercial requirements resulting in uniquely effective, high-quality, cost-driven performance solutions.
Create and execute bring up schedules.
Set up and manage version control for engineering.
Create project and technical reports as required.
Identify and perform any engineering required.
Help select and support suppliers from prototyping to mass production.
Test and evaluate prototypes from initial engineering samples to mass production.
Assist other engineering fields in evaluating and specifying microcontroller and other embedded devices into future products.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
BSEE required, MSEE preferred
5-10 years proven track record of bringing consumer electronics products into production.
Must have ability to work with cross functional development teams from internal staff, outside contractors and Asia ODM's.
Must have completed multiple full FW product development cycles of high volume, consumer electronic devices.
Must have experience working with electrical engineering, marketing, and suppliers to develop FW for a wide range of embedded processors.
Must have knowledge of revision control such as Tortoise SVN.
Must have good working knowledge of IAR, Code Warrior, and other compilers.
Must have thorough understanding of ARM, 805x, and other 32-bit micro controllers.
Must be able to connect eval and bread boards together to create product concept demos.
Must be able to use USB, I2S, and I2C analyzers and other debugging equipment such as O-scopes and DMMs.
Must be able to analyze and implement multiple wireless technologies.
Must be able to perform hands-on shop and lab work.
Must have good verbal and written communication.
Must have good interpersonal and people management skills, up and down the hierarchy.
Understanding of the gaming, interactive, on-line, console, pc market a plus, but not required.
Ability to write GUI's on Windows and Mac is a plus but not required.
