Our client is a smaller, niche software company that is gaining more and more exposure and attention because of their solutions that address high priority issues within large enterprise companies. This company is a leader in their space and has gained traction in numerous large enterprise clients with enormous potential for their offerings going forward. As a result of their expansion we are seeking a software engineer candidate with strong C++/Windows development experience to join their team for this exciting opportunity:
Position title: Principal Software Engineer
Location: Cupertino, California

Position responsibilities:
- Work closely with customers, Customer Support, and Field Engineers to root cause
issues and provide solutions.
- Lead a team of Sustaining Engineers.
- Design, implement and maintain features for product offering.
- Follow good software development practices (functional specs, design specs, code
reviews, unit test)
- Collaborate with developers during requirement gathering and work closely with the
architect on technical designs.
- Collaborate with QA, release engineering, operations and other engineering teams
to meet customer and project needs.
Required skills:
- 10 years of Windows programming experience
- Minimum 10 years of software development experience
- Must have strong knowledge of Windows OS internals and C/C++
- Must have excellent OO design, development and debugging skills
- Must have experience in designing multithreaded applications
- Must have knowledge of standard algorithms such as sorting and hashing
- Must have leadership experience
- Sustaining Engineering experience
- Knowledge of STL, COM/ATL/WTL
- Knowledge of SCSI/SATA/ATA interfaces
- Knowledge of .NET/C# is a plus
- Knowledge and experience developing security application is a plus
- Knowledge on Linux, Mac OS is a plus
- UI design and development experience is a plus
- Excellent diagnostics skills
- Excellent communication skills and team work
- Open mind with learning attitude, should work with minimal supervision and must be
self-motivated
- Willing to work in a startup environment
- BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent
