Full Time Chassis Project Manager / Mechanical Design Engineer

This position is Silicon Valley. We Require:

• A great Mechanical Design Engineer with Project Management experience, and specific expertise in rack mount chassis design.

• Mechanical Engineering degree required.

• Hands-on analysis skills desired but not required.

• Ability to "think like an engineer".

• Can recognize when and where to apply engineering analysis.

• Able to manage engineering analysis resources and understand results.

• Experience with Pro/E and/or SolidWorks:

Familiarity with recent version required, current version preferred.

a. Able to quickly navigate and query large assemblies.
b. Model creation required.

• Project Management.

• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, visual, presentations).

a. Able to lead a project – technical direction, schedule, budgets.
b. Be a "good face" for the company.

• Chassis design experience as follows:

• Experienced designing rack cabinet chassis products (3 RU minimum, 8+ RU preferred)

IMPORTANT:

• Direct or Contract Employment with: Brocade, Cisco, Ericsson, HP, IBM, NET, Network Appliance, Rackable Systems, Sun or similar company.

• Manufacturing Experience.

• Strong knowledge of design for sheet metal manufacturing required:

• Design experience for both low volume and high volume tooled production.

• Be familiar with sheet metal design rules and process capability.

• Injection molded plastic design skills desired, but not required.

NOTE: Semiconductor and Military Equipment Experience not relevant for this position.
