The Senior Network Engineer will operate and manage network routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and related components to ensure the highest levels of availability and security of Rovi platforms and services. Is able to engineer ecosystem upgrades and large scale system integrations when necessary. The Senior Network Engineer also participates in the implementation of policies and procedures and to ensure consistency with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. Has the ability to demonstrate breadth of knowledge across multiple areas of information technology and apply across multiple customer facing, business critical environments. The candidate may be a key team member on strategic or enterprise-wide technology projects or issues. The position may be located in San Diego CA, Santa Clara CA, or Tulsa OK.

Responsibilities

Guide the growth and strategic planning of the RoxioNow network infrastructure.
Provide Tier II/III and on-call support experience for network systems and infrastructure.
Troubleshoot network systems and application performance with the use of packet capture and protocol analysis.
Provide escalation point for resolving complex network problems requiring extended skills and extensive research.
Work with vendor support organizations for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Schedule and implement OS upgrades per established process inclusive of coordination with application development, platform engineering and quality assurance teams.
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
Work closely with other technical groups located locally and remotely.
Develop network and maintenance standards and deployment methodologies and procedures.
Coach and provide knowledge transfer with peers.

Requirements:
Extensive network systems administration experience within e-commerce or financial services industry.
Knowledge and understanding of computer and network system requirements and standards.
Knowledge and experience with TCP/IP networking, including all the following:
Hardware: Cisco 2900, 4000, 6500, Nexus 7000, RSM, MSFC, SFM, 3600, 7200, ASR, PIX, ASA, and Citrix Netscalers.
Protocols: TCP/IP, HSRP/VRRP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, SNMP, MPLS, Multicast, QoS, WCCP, and IPSEC.
Infrastructure: LAN, WAN, and MAN.
Network Management: Network Instruments Observer, Solarwinds Orion, BMC BCAN, and LogLogic Security Change Manager.
5-7 years Cisco specific experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent computer skills necessary in Word, Excel, Presentation, Project and Visio.
Excellent people skills with ability to handle difficult personnel situations.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies and processes.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to establish and define automated system installation/configuration procedures.
Ability to maintain System Run Books and other documentation with updates and changes to day-to-day support, maintenance, troubleshooting knowledgebase and processes and procedures that can assist other team members in maintaining the network.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to apply them towards the investigation of existing installations.
Ability to establish performance models and validation techniques.
Ability to establish best practices for monitoring and forecasting of system/application capacity.
Bachelors degree in Computer Services, Math, or Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CCNA & CCNP certification required, CCIE Desired
CCSP, CCVP, CCIP or JNCIA-FWV certification a plus.
