Lead a team of product managers responsible for the Consumer Electronic products (e.g., DTV, Tablet, Blu-Ray, etc.). The team is responsible for product planning including, roadmaps, generation and prioritization of requirements, definition and business cases in support of new products, identification of market direction and appropriate product strategy to lead the market. Work closely with customers to gather and validate requirements. Work closely with engineering to ensure a release hits its goals. Specifically responsible of ensuring appropriate strategies are in place the DivX technologies, our Guide products, and the other component technologies that make up the overall CE ecosystem.
Will have responsibility to support the expansion of our global business. Will include definition of product(s) for the market, establishing customer relationships, hiring appropriate staff, and launching in market.
Success in this position will be evaluated based on establishing and implementing a product strategy that grows product revenue with service providers and increases the product penetration of tier 1 CE Manufacturers as well as providing turkney implementations for Tier 2/3 manufacturers,, while increasing overall market share.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for strategic planning for the Consumer Electronic market segments
Responsible for ensuring team converts strategic plan into actionable steps including product plans, roadmaps, PRDs, release planning and backlog feature management. Heavy communication with engineering.
Establish strong working relationships with Third Party vendors necessary for success of overall business.
Establish strong working relationship with key CE customers.
Support Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Professional Services as appropriate
Support overall Rovi strategy
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
5+ years Cable product management experience
Experience leading team of product managers
Understanding of product management processes and documentation
Knowledge of CE Trends and Market economics
Established industry contacts with Consumer Electronic
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Physical and Mental Demands/Environment
General office environment
20-30% Travel is required
