POSITION – WEB PUBLISHER
LOCATION – SAN JOSE, CA

Job Description:
The client's team is looking for a Web Publisher to support an internal online collaboration community and other intranet sites that host SMO's research content. Resource reports to SMO Operations and will work closely with the SMO operations team, and the broad range of content authors and site stakeholders: mainly the Competitive and Market Intelligence team analysts and members of Market Research, Customer Intelligence and other SMO units.
The primary responsibility for this individual is to manage SMO content management web sites. Additional role responsibilities also include ad hoc support for graphic design projects and project management for tool development.
Given the varied responsibilities, the role requires a diverse skill set with a good balance between technical skills (HTLM, javascript) and creativity (Photoshop). We are looking for an adaptable self-starter with a customer service orientation and ability to learn new tools/environments with provided online/community training resources.
Responsibilities:
Web:
• Management of an internal social networking/collaboration community. Support for content publishing, overall look and feel of the community and development of site enhancements and new pages per stakeholder requirements.
• Management of SMO's intranet web sites.
• Maintenance of high standards and visitor ease-of-use for the web community/site including:
o Spotting and correcting errors in content and formatting on the sites.
o Driving best practices in content publishing (tagging, titles etc)
o Liaising with content submitters to remedy errors and, as needed, educating them on site guidelines and publishing process
• General administration of the community and websites including:
o Analysis and reporting of web site statistics
o Ongoing review of the site to discover content needing improvement or updates
o Support to archival, backup and content deletion process
o Ad hoc administration of other tools e.g. e-mail distribution lists, voicemail distribution lists etc
• Liaison with internal web development community to stay ahead of the curve in platform best practices and new features and programming methods
Graphics:
• Creation of graphic content for web sites
• Ad hoc support for SMO's graphic design needs e.g. e-mail banners, html based newsletters, posters etc.
Project Management:
• Part-time project management of SMO's tool development; liason between SMO tool business owners and IT team. Driving development team to meet stakeholder needs and deadlines.
Skills Required
HTML, CSS, Javascript (dojo knowledge a plus)
Photoshop, Dreamweaver, (Illustrator knowledge a plus)
Strong detail, execution and deadline orientation & customer service attitude
Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as a collaborator with variety of stakeholders
Self-starter with an ability to learn new tools and processes using online and community support
