Title: Java Developer
Location: Sacramento, CA
Duration: 3 – 6 months contract (convert to perm)

Application Programming ( 70% of the position)
•Design, develop, and implement J2EE applications and maintain technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
•Expected to prioritize work load and meet multiple project deadlines.
•Expected to adapt in a dynamic and collaborative work environment and make independent decisions.
•Communicates project information through demonstrations, design sessions, and status reports; provides third-tier support to end-users.
•Key technical areas of major importance are expertise in Web Services and advanced Java J2EE programming.
•Strong knowledge and hands-on experience to develop highly scalable applications using Java, JSF (Java Server Faces)/Struts, server-side technology such as Spring, Hibernate, Servlets, HTML/DHTML, Javascript and CSS, and Tomcat.
•Excellent knowledge of database concepts and Object Oriented design.
•Excellent debugging, problem solving and testing skills are imperative, and the incumbent must be a good team player and able to work with little direction, provide work estimates and deliver challenging, complex, stable, and maintainable projects on schedule
•Person will also participate in the "On Call" rotation for 24x7 support of applications after hours

Business Systems Analysis and System Design (20% of the position)
•Analysis and definition of application business requirements.
•The design, development, documentation, implementation, and integration of custom application software using Java, J2EE, servlets, RDBS.
•Writing functional and detailed technical specifications for application code developed.
•Establishing and sustaining a Quality Control capability that tests and fixes application bugs, and adheres to the software development methodology.
•Technical expert on new applications or web-enabled versions of existing applications, using advanced technologies such as J2EE, Web Logic Workshop Framework, UML, XML, and XSL that enhance the education curriculum.
•Ability to integrate new and existing applications
•Ability to re-factor existing applications
•Designs and authors user documentation and other documentation as needed

Evaluate new software tools and technologies (10%)
•Programmer is expected to proactively participate in the research and evaluation of emerging application development tools and technologies, and assist in making purchasing recommendations.
