Title: Business Data Analyst/ SQL Query experience
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 6+ months with quarterly renewal
The Business Data Analyst should have strong analytical and reporting skills, and also develop SQL based solutions for business requirements. Candidate needs to understand business objectives and metrics, extract and analyze large sets of data, have strong SQL writing skills, design efficient and robust reporting solution, and possess very strong and fluent communication as well as project management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Translate business requirements to data and technical specifications.
- Develop SQL queries for data extraction, analysis and reporting.
- Understand existing SQL code and make any required modifications.
- Verify accuracy of data extracted for reporting.
- Analyze problem incidents, debug SQL and implement fixes.
- Design an efficient reporting solution for the specific business requirement.
- Understand reporting, know how to use reporting tools, and automate reports and deliverables.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years developing SQL
- Experience with subscription business model
- Experience with one or more reporting systems (Cognos, OBIEE, CrystalReports)
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, proactive and collaborative
- Excellent team player with ability to learn new skills and willingness to contribute on team projects
- Excited to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and deliver multiple projects concurrently
- BS in Computer Science, Business Administration, Mathematics or related field
