[KITlist-Tech] CONTR: Sr. Technical Operations Engineer (Virtualization, Linux) (Palo Alto, Ca)

TechOps Engineer (Systems Integration) needed for long term project (1+year) at Client Company.

The Systems Integration team (SI team) is part of the TechOps organization at Client that provides IT services to the R&D department. The SI team consists of system administrators that support worldwide production services such as DNS, DHCP, NIS, LDAP, PXE, Web, Apps, ISO libraries, Print, Monitoring, etc. These services are provided on a virtual infrastructure using Virtualization technology. As a member of the SI team, you will support and maintain production services on a virtual infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

-Linux server administration (40%)
-VMware vSphere administration (50%)
-Windows server administration (10%)
-Print server support for both Linux and Windows
-Deploy new servers on VMs (virtual machines) using templates
-Manage DHCP reservation requests
-Troubleshoot system issues
-Triage & Resolve trouble tickets within SLA guidelines
-Track hardware inventory

Competencies: 5+ years of Linux server administration, 5+ years of technical support, 2+ years of vSphere (VMware) experience
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) Certification required
-Experience with backend services such as DNS, DHCP, PXE, NIS, LDAP, Print Services, etc.
-Experience with syslog, version control, automation and configuration management tools
-Experience with trouble ticketing systems
-Experience with system monitoring tools
-Experience with Virtualization nterprise products

Desired: OS, Network, Storage certifications are a plus. Scripting experience (bash, perl, ...)
