Job Description:
In this role, you will be working with an inter-disciplinary team within corporate research laboratory. Key responsibilities include characterizing synthetic and biological RNA samples and contributing to the development of multiplexed RNA measurements for life sciences research. The individual will be performing wet-lab work as directed by the project team and communicating results to team members orally and in writing.
Qualifications :
1. B.S./B.A. in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology or equivalent with strong background in molecular biology.
2. 4+ years of wet-lab experience for research projects involving molecular biology.
3. Proficiency in working with low quantities of synthetic and/or biological RNA and DNA.
4. Proficiency in specific molecular biology techniques including: acrylamide and agarose gel electrophoresis, RNA extraction & clean up, and basic nucleic-acid enzymology.(restriction digests, PCR, reverse-transcription).
5. Computer literacy in working with spreadsheet, graphing, and database software.
6. Excellent time management and teamwork skills.
7. Excel at detail-oriented laboratory work and communication.
The following additional skills/experiences are highly desired:
1. Familiarity with common next-generation sequencing platforms and experience with next-generation sequencing library preparation
2. Proficiency with Agilent's Bioanalyzer.
3. Experience with microarray wet bench work and data analysis.
4. Industrial research experience.
