[KITlist-Tech] CONTR: Sr. QA Platform Eningeers (San Jose, CA)

Our direct client in SAN JOSE, CA is looking for Senior QA Platform Engineers to play a critical role in testing rich user-centric user interface targeted to cutting edge data center intelligent automation software. This is a CONTRACT role for 9-12 months with possible extension.

PS: If your QA experience is pertinent only to Web Applications Testing then this may not be a right opportunity for you.

Responsibilities:

Develops and executes test cases and suites to establish product´s conformance to the defined quality & reliability standards.

Initiates, develops and implements industry best practices designed to increase product quality and team effectiveness.

Participates in product requirement and design reviews.

Analyzes field issues and performs root cause analysis to improve coverage of existing test suites and to improve effectiveness of existing processes.

Required Skills:

Experience in defining, developing, executing, and documenting software test plans and procedures.

Ability to identify software risks and develop tests to mitigate them.

Working knowledge of databases (Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle) and networking technologies.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to quickly learn and absorb new technologies and requirements.

Strong customer focus.

Ability to collaborate with project teams focused on delivering a quality product to its customers.

Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux

Experience involving extensive structured query language (SQL) usage and development of complex queries and procedures.

Basic programming knowledge

Desired Skills:

Working knowledge Windows Server administration/configuration

Working knowledge of virtual machines, such as VMWare Workstation or Server and Microsoft Virtual Server

Experience with off-the-shelf automated software test tools (Quick Test Pro, WinRunner, LoadRunner).

Commitment to ongoing process improvement.

Resourcefulness and ability to independently research potential solutions.
